![]() ![]() ![]() Nobody got too aggressive with me, but I got downvotes like craaaazy and some of the people refuting my complaints had a very lenient outlook on the book (they were more than willing to overlook explicit contradictions) or made very conterproductive points. I made a post about it a couple of days ago explaining my issues with it. until I reached page 5 and realized it wasn't neither original nor well-written. I started the 1st volume of TFP a week or so ago and I was super excited. ![]() Mind you this is my opinion on the series and it's super okay to disagree (I'm aggressively particular with details), and I just want to know what's the status/opinion in JP because I think that the series has potential, but it's written so badly. Also, 3.2's climax felt kinda deus ex machina in how it doesn't seem to build on anything but tries to?Īnd Volume 4 is trying to build characters that have unbelievably late character development, and makes the volume feel like crap due to the lack of investment I have in some of them, mainly with Reystov (idc about the name, his character development quality is shit and 3 volumes late, and it frustrates me because I think he could have been interesting) and Anna (also 3 volumes late, and both her and her adoptive father could have been interesting but are completely stale and lacking). Volume 3.1 was fine-ish, but together with volume 3.2 kinda shows an over reliance on Blood's phrase of "Getting Ripped" as if this LN suddenly became a wrestling LN. Volume 2 introduced more characters than it could properly develop/maintain/make relevant while also doing a time skip that could have built those characters. I'm reading volume 4 (technically volume 5) at the moment and while the story of the series interests me, the bumps and jumps in quality of the story are unbelievably bad, imo. It’s the story of how we died, and it’s the reason you grew up here.I saw that the last release was 2017 in JP. This is the story of the deaths of many heroes. It’s gonna take a while, but I’ll tell you everything. And when he knows it all, the boy will take his first step on the path to becoming a Paladin. He must learn the love and mercy of the good gods, and the bigotry and madness of the bad. The three pour love into the boy, and teach him all they know.īut one day, Will starts to wonder: “Who am I?” Will must unravel the mysteries of this faraway dead man’s land, and unearth the secret pasts of the undead. His name is Will, and he’s being raised by three undead: the hearty skeletal warrior, Blood the graceful mummified priestess, Mary and the crotchety spectral sorcerer, Gus. In a city of the dead, long since ruined and far from human civilization, lives a single human child. ![]()
